Ember Yard.
Ember Yard fires three times a year. Members travel for it. Some travel only for it.
A walled compound containing two anagama kilns, a saltglaze chamber, and a long throwing shed roofed in corrugated tin.
The original anagama was built in MMXVII by a visiting potter from Bizen. It is now in its eighth lining. The second kiln, smaller and faster, was added two years later for refractory experiments and continues to produce surprises.

Firings last between sixty and ninety hours. Members rotate the watch in four-hour shifts. Sleep is taken in the shed.
